After a costly and sobering experience on the shores of Turkey in 1915, the Australian Imperial Force regrouped in Egypt to train and form battalions that would go to Europe in support of the Empire in its fight with Germany on the Western Front.
Join us for a free afternoon lecture by local historian and journalist David Bailey, who will explain what happened and outline the tragic events that saw defeat become victory in one week as Australians fought on the bloodiest battlefields of World War One.
This is a free event with tea and coffee supplied.
The current exhibitions at the Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre will also be available to view.
Venue: Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre, 1 Arthur Street
