City of Bunbury 40 years

‚ÄčThis October marks 40 years since Bunbury was recognised as a City.

In 1976 Bunbury achieved the significant milestone of 20,000 residents living within its boundaries paving the way for the town to become a City in 1979.

Bunbury was also the first recognised City in the South West.

The Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre is inviting the community to celebrate and learn about this historic event throughout October.

Visitors to the museum will have the chance to view items from the 1970s to 1980s revealing what life was like in Bunbury 40 years ago.
