CHART Grant Projects

The Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre are pleased to be successful recipients of funding from the Australian Government’s Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) program administered by the Australian Museums and Galleries Association WA.

This funding has been used to:
  • Purchase equipment for a 'digitisation station', including new scanners, a book stand, and photographic backdrops, which has expanded our digitisation capabilities, and;
  • Engage professional conservators to treat two of our collection objects - a painted portrait and a wedding dress - which have been granted a new life and are now ready for public display.
Both projects assist in ensuring the ongoing safety of our collection items, so that the objects and their associated stories can continue to be enjoyed by visitors and locals alike for generations to come.

Our digitisation equipment also significantly enhances our capacity to share our collections with the world, whether it be through digital content creation, marketing and promotions, community engagement or exhibition design.

You can follow us on our social media to learn more about our digitisation work, collection objects and upcoming exhibitions featuring these items - watch this space!

Supported by the Australian Government’s Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) program.
